PPR approval

Vogtareuth airfield requires PPR. You have two options — choose the path that fits your flight:

Self-briefing — Uncontrolled operations (FoB)

You operate on your own responsibility, without an airfield operator on site. Complete the online briefing once — then PPR is granted until revoked, as long as the airfield status is green.

Airfield status green + Briefing completed = PPR & uncontrolled operations granted

No phone call required — land without further notification.

PPR request with airfield operator

You would like an airfield operator to be on site at your time of arrival. Submit a classic PPR request via our form — we will check availability and confirm by email.

Procedures — brief overview

Full procedures including radio examples can be found in the online briefing.

Approach

Radio call on 121.030 MHz approx. 5 min. before entering the traffic pattern. Runway check by flyover only required when the status is yellow. Watch the windsocks on the west hangar and on the runway. Park only on designated areas, with at least 30 m clearance from the runway centreline — never in front of the fuel station or the hangar doors.

Take-off & departure

Check runway and taxiway condition. Take off according to AIP procedures. Take-off and landing times are captured automatically — provided your aircraft carries FLARM or a transponder (ADS-B). Close any filed flight plan with DFS/FIS on your own responsibility.

Traffic pattern

South side according to AIP. Pattern altitude 3,000 ft MSL (approx. 1,000 ft AGL). Reduced power setting (noise abatement). Log each training exercise.

Glider operations

Mixed traffic — gliders have right of way (ICAO Annex 2, 3.2.2.3).

Refuelling

Refuelling only with the airfield operator or a briefed person — available on request (also spontaneous and at short notice). AVGAS 100LL and Super Plus available.

Check-in & payment

Take-off and landing times are captured automatically — provided your aircraft carries FLARM or a transponder (ADS-B). Origin, remaining details and payment (cash or PayPal) are handled via the flight kiosk: QR code at the airfield office door and by the fireplace.

Safety

2 × 10-kg fire extinguishers at the fuel station (NfL 2023-1-2792). Safety plan posted on site. Video surveillance with motion sensors (runway, east entrance, fuel station).

Flight kiosk — self check-in & payment

Take-off and landing times are captured automatically — provided your aircraft carries FLARM or a transponder (ADS-B). Origin, remaining details and payment are handled conveniently on your own phone via the flight kiosk. No app, no account, no sign-up — in German and English.

Open the flight kiosk

Scan the QR code — done

Posted at the airfield office door and by the fireplace. The code opens the kiosk in your phone's browser — no app, no account, no sign-up. Available in German and English.

Arrival is usually detected automatically

The airfield detects arrivals live via FLARM/ADS-B. After you enter your registration, your flight appears as a ready-made card — just confirm, no times to type. Unknown registrations are created in seconds.

A few details

Landings (pre-filled, editable), crew and passengers, type of flight and airfield of origin.

Plan your onward flight right away

Onward flight the same day or overnight stay, planned return date and destination. Your return is thus already prepared — on actual departure it is captured automatically, no second check-in needed.

Instant billing

The landing fee and — for an overnight stay — the parking fee (per started night) are calculated immediately; the invoice appears in the kiosk at once.

Pay right on the page

PayPal QR or payment link to tap — the payment is assigned automatically. Alternatively cash in an envelope labelled with the invoice number (details also in the kiosk).

Even faster with a PPR request

If you submitted a PPR request online beforehand, your details (origin, planned return, passengers) are already pre-filled.

Powered aircraft: max. 2,000 kg MTOW permitted.

The aircraft's maximum take-off weight (MTOW) as stated in the certificate of airworthiness determines the fee category.

A landing fee is also payable for any ground contact followed by an immediate go-around (touch-and-go).

The reduced training rate applies only to instructional flights conducted by a student pilot during training at an approved training organisation (ATO/DTO). Currency and practice flights by licensed pilots are not considered training and are charged at the standard landing fee.

Parking

Park aircraft only on the designated areas — at least 30 m clearance from the runway centreline. Never park in front of the fuel station or the hangar doors; always keep access routes and emergency lanes clear.
